Eve McMillan is no stranger to lies.

All too often, the relationships between women are written as catty, back stabbing, manipulative, and unstable. It's rare to find a book of substance about a group of female friends. The Lies We Tell Ourselves is that book, and so much more. The themes explored are relatable and written in a true to life manner. Characters each have a designated role, consistent throughout. The story is good, not overly dramatic but just enough to maintain interest.I did rate only four stars because, on several occasions, I had to work to figure out who was speaking. There were switches to first person speaking at times, but the changes were not always clear? Also, there are a number of grammar errors. Some made sentence structure odd, others were just misspellings or left out words.
All in all, this is a great read.

I'm not a huge fan of domestic violence stories probably because it hits close to home. I will say the beginning of this book I was confused there were too many characters thrown in the beginning that I could not keep them apart and some of it was written in first person. I will say Ev got on my nerves a little with her know it all self. I like to know what happened to Ken his character interesting but then he just disappeared, it's like the author used him for page fillers or word count. The same with Damien, he was talked about throughout the book he appeared once then poof he was gone. The book would have been better if the author took the time to introduce/develop the dozens of active characters in the story instead of throwing them all in at the 10 pages .
One of the best Authors by far! You really feel like you are right in the story. I hope she continues writing and that all the readers out there take some time and buy her products to support her. Excellent Author!!!!!!!!
Made me wish I had girlfriends as tight as these girls. Loved the book. Jackie Chanel is one of my new favorite writers.
Just finished and I must say my girl Jackie Chanel has done it again!!!! This was an awesome read. My emotions were all over the place. If you haven't read any of Jackie's Books this one is a MUST READ...When your finished check out the rest of her book TeamJc

I am speachless, I have read all of Jackie Chanel's books and I love them all but this one touched me on a whole different level. The friendship and the bond between these friends captures you making you feel as if you are apart of the crew... This is a must read
I have to be honest, I'm not sure you could go wrong with any JC read, but this book was phenomenal. The story is told in a way that allows you to see the private lives of this group of friends. I made it most of the way through the book without dropping any tears, but bringing it all together in the end catapults the emotions, and tugged hard on my heart strings. A book like this cannot be easy to write, and I thank JC for helping women see that we must stop the lies we tell ourselves!
This book had me holding back tears at least 5 times. I really really don't want to give anything away so I don't want to say anything other than Jackie Chanel YOU DID THAT! I felt like I was watching a movie. Ladies, read this and thank me later.
