First I want to indicate to those reading this review that the author is my brother. I read another book that he was working on and was quite surprised that this book was the one he chose to publish. I didn't know about this one until he actually published it. I purchased the book and began reading it a few days later. We grew up in Galveston and knew about the history of the 'great storm.' James chose to tell this story in the words of a mouse whose ancestors survived the storm. The characters jump off the page at you and jump into your imagery. You feel like you are there with the mice and experiencing firsthand what they are enduring to survive. This book is a great testimony of the 'will to survive'.Product details

It is an awesome read for both children and adults. Buying a copy for all my co-workers to share with their families. It is just that good.
This book is simply a classic in the making. It provides a great opportunity to introduce children, teens, and adults to the Ireland Potato Famine and an important event in Galvestonian history to date The Storm of 1900; from a different perspective.
this book was a great read and the point of view from the mice made it that much more interesting. History completely came alive in the descriptions of Galveston prior to the storm and the entire story was just a fun read. I highly recommend you buy this book right now.

I am only maybe 10 pages into this read. I am at awe of how detailed and precise this storyline is. Bring your imagination along for the ride. For this read appears thus far to take you on a real journey. So happy to have come across such a treasure. This is a must Read.
